Annual Trunk or Treat is a Massive Success

Teal Pumpkin Project

Wellington high school’s Deca hosts its annual Trunk or Treat on Halloween evening with over 600 children attending.

This Trunk or Treat, Wellington high school made sure to make this a Teal Pumpkin event. This year, children with food allergies were welcome to come and enjoy the event safely, every car passing out candy also had non-food treats available for kids with allergies. Kids were able to tell which cars were safe for them for sure because each car had a pumpkin painted teal sitting beside it for families to take extra precaution.

With the overwhelming attendance, cars ran out of candy with in the first two hours of the event but the fun continued with huge bounce houses set up for the kids for when they were done trunk or treating. Chick – fil – a was also available for purchase for guests so that they had something to eat other than all that Halloween candy.

All the cars were brought by students here at Wellington who chose to participate. Each car was required to come decorated to mimic a certain theme, which could be anything students wanted. At the end of the event, there was a contest to determine which car should win best decorated, most guests voted and decided on Jessica Ferrin’s, Jurassic Park themed car.

The event was overall a huge success and guests thought it was extremely entertaining as well as safe for the children. The event could not have been possible without Wellington Highschool’s DECA, who took charge of the entire event and executed it flawlessly.
