Rain Time is Game Time

Over half the members of the Mighty Wolverine Sound volunteered to come out Friday. They even faced an oncoming tropical storm to support the football team. The newly appointed drum majors, Ryan Dargan, senior, Jenny Bermudez, senior, and Joey Hempfling, junior, conducted the band through the second quarter. That is, until lightning sent the crowd packing for the cafeteria and the band booking towards the band room.

Though rain was expected, it was not predicted to be a downpour. The tropical storm Isaac was churning over Cuba, sending storm cells up to Wellington.

With all this happening, why volunteer? “I love band. It is always a lot of fun to come out, play some music with your friends, and have a funky time!” Trey Fritz, sophomore, said. Even Tropical Storm Isaac couldn’t stop these kids.
