During the last few days before the trade deadline, there were many major trades for a variety of different teams in the NBA involving the Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies, Detroit Pistons, and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Denver Nuggets, and Atlanta Hawks were all involved in a 4 team trade. The Hawks will get the Rockets’ Clint Capela, and Nene. This was a very unwise trade for the Rockets, considering that Clint Capela was their major point of defense. Now the Rockets will have to play small ball ( a type of play where no tall or big man is on the court) as their main play type. On the other hand, though, the Hawks gained an extra player to help out Trae Young, which could maybe lead to a better rest of the season. The Rockets also gained Robert Convington, but he does not make up for the amount of defense Clint Capela provided. The Minnesota Timberwolves will receive Evan Turner, Juancho Hernangomez, and Malik Beasley. The Denver Nuggets will get Gerald Green, and Jordan Bell and a second-round pick via Atlanta Hawks.

The Miami Heat, Memphis Grizzlies, and Minnesota Timberwolves were involved in a 3 team trade. The Miami Heat will receive Jae Crowder, Solomon Hill, and Andre Igoudala from the Memphis Grizzlies, after Andre Igoudala and his teammates did not see eye to eye. The Miami Heat getting an extra Veteran, will help get closer to a Championship. The Timberwolves will only get James Johnson from the Miami Heat.

The Golden State Warriors will give away D’Angelo Russell to the Timberwolves, while they receive Andrew Wiggings, and a first-round pick. The Detroit Pistons will give away their star player, Andre Drummond, for Brandon Knight, John Henson, and a second-round pick. The trade was very poor for the Detroit Pistons considering their other star player, Blake Griffin, is injured and does not have a timetable to return.

The last week of the trade deadline has been a very interesting and surprising week for most players and teams, but time will tell how well these teams do with the new adjustments.
