Nationals Win Their First World Series

On October 30th, 2019, the Washington Nationals won the 2019 World Series. They defeated their opponent the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the World Series with the score of 6-2. The series was originally tied at 3-3, and that led the series into Game 7 where the Nationals defeated the Astros for them to be champions.

This all started when it was the final four teams in the Major League Baseball playoffs, the Houston Astros, New York Yankees, Washington Nationals, St. Louis Cardinals. The Astros defeated the Yankees to move on to the World Series and the Nationals defeated the Cardinals to move on to the World Series. And that’s how the Nationals and Astros ended up facing each other after eliminating those two teams out of the playoffs.

In Game 1 of the 2019 World Series, the Nationals defeated the Astros, 5-4, to start the series off 1-0. In Game 2, the Nationals had a big defeat on the Astros with the score of 12-3 to lead the series 2-0. In Game 3, the Astros got their game straight and defeated the Nationals, 4-1, to get back in the series 2-1. In Game 4, the Astros made a comeback to defeat the Nationals, 8-1, to get back in the series and tie the series 2-2. In Game 5, the Astros defeated the Nationals, 7-1, to lead the series 3-2. In Game 6, the Nationals knocked out the Astros chance of winning the World Series with a defeat of 7-2 , to tie the series 3-3. In Game 7, the Nationals defeated the Astros 6-2 to win their first World Series to go in their team history titles.
