The girl’s volleyball team played Park Vista on Wednesday, October 19. In this three-game match, the girls were triumphant finishing with scores of 25-13, 25-9, and 25-11.

“[The team] really stepped it up,” Brian Bausch, coach, said.

Bausch believes that the senior night spirit has a lot to do with this strong victory. The Wolverines were very motivated to make their senior night a special one. The gym was decorated with inspirational signs dedicated to the seniors and bouquets of balloons.

Other sources lend credence to Park Vista’s weaknesses, saying injured players brought them down. Regardless, the Lady Wolverines feel very ready to conquer the District playoffs in the near future.

The October 19 volleyball games were sponsored by ThinkPinkKids of Wellington. Club members sold concessions and club merchandise in the gym lobby throughout the night to raise money for breast cancer research. The club also sponsored a raffle which took place towards the end of the night. ThinkPinkKids sponsors the annual senior night games, calling it “Dig Pink.”

“A lot of planning and preparation goes into every event. But I love helping out. It’s very rewarding,” Morgan Hearns, junior, said.
