The year of the wolverine continues as the wrestling team won the team title in Region 3A-3.

The race went down to the wire between Wellington and Olympic Heights, the previous champions. The boys won by a narrow margin of 5.5 points.  Out of the 14 wrestlers who qualified for regionals, 8 moved onto states.
The eight qualifying wrestlers are as follows: Jared Abramson (2), Andrew Mitchell (champion), Colton Macfarlane (champion), Bailey Laster (3), Michael James (3), Christian Goss (2), Josue Arce (champion), and AJ Lopez (2).
The boys will wrestle this weekend in Orlando at the state tournament.
This is only the second time in history that Wellington has won in the regional competition. The last occurrence was in 2002. This year also has the most state qualifiers ever as well as most individual champions (3). In addition, this is the first year that a freshman (Jared Abramson) has qualified .
Please congratulate all members of the wrestling team. Each individual helped contribute to winning the team title.
