Florida Dance Performance Assessment

Florida Dance Performance Assessment

The Wellington High School Dance Company participated in the Florida Dance Performance Assessment on March 1, 2014 and received straight superiors!  They are one of the first traditional high schools to ever receive this high of a rating!

Dancers were adjudicated on their technical proficiency in learning five ballet combinations and four modern combinations prior to going to FDPA, and then they were evaluated on their performance of the preset phrases.

After being evaluated on their technical proficiency, the dancers moved on to movement acquisition.  A ballet and modern phrase was taught on-site, and the dancers were adjudicated as they learned the phrases.

As the final part of the assessment, the Dance Company performed their piece, “Reminiscence,” choreographed by Jennifer Simmers within the ensemble performance section of the assessment.
