Coronavirus reaches Florida

Two Florida residents–one from Manatee County and the other from Hillsborough County–were tested for the coronavirus and came out as “presumptively positive” making Gov. Ron DeSantis declare a public health emergency on Sunday.

Being “presumptively positive” means that the patient was tested positive by a public health laboratory.

A man in his 60s and a woman in her 20s were both tested positive for the Coronavirus in Florida. The man didn’t travel recently; however, the woman just got back from a trip to Italy.

There are no known cases of the virus in Palm Beach County, though schools are still issuing out warnings. Palm Beach County schools are now enforcing good cleaning habits for students to help prevent the spread of any illness, including the Coronavirus.
