A bulldog named Thor won best in show in The National Dog Show, televised on Thanksgiving day on NBC.

The National Dog Show has been held since 1933 in Pennsylvania and more than two million people watch it from home on Thanksgiving day.

A two year old male bulldog won best in show out of 2,000 dogs. Last year’s winning dog was elegant and poised. This year, the dog was described as “beefy” or “chunky.” The judges went in the opposite direction when judging this year’s competition.

The bulldog breed is the fifth most popular dog breed according to the Washington Post.

Seven dogs were the finalists in this show. Thor won in the non-sporting group and best in the show. The next dog was a Havanese, and the rest of the five were Golden Retrievers.

Thor and his owner even appeared on the Today Show because of his great victory.
