A 13-year-old student was arrested on Monday after a prank call prompted Loggers’ Run Middle School to lock down Friday afternoon.

The student called 911 and reported that there was a school shooter on campus at dismissal time. Police locked down the school for 15 minutes before realizing it was a false report.

The student is facing a second-degree felony charge of making a false report regarding the use of a firearm in a violent manner. The student is also facing disciplinary consequences because they violated the school’s code of conduct.

Palm Beach County School District is once again reminding parents to warn their kids about the dangers of reporting fake threats.
