The Academic Tournament Team at Wellington High School recently participated in an academic trivia game show Thursday. The show aired on Beacon TV against A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts.

The two teams of four competed for cash prizes and free Chick-fil-A for a year, answering questions about different academic trivia subjects.

The team was led by captain Eric Burchill, who has been a part of the team since 2016 and became captain in 2017. Eric has has competed in two other trivia games in the past and has a fourth one coming up soon.

Other members of the team were Melissa Gonzalez, Miabeth Gorodetzer-Edelman, Max Legates, and alternate Stephen Connor.

Although Wellington did their best, at the end of the game Dreyfoos was victorious with a score of 390 and Wellington with only 210.

The team’s next competition, Palm Beach County School District Commissioner’s Academic Challenge, will air in March on The Education Network.
