As winter approaches, students put away their bathing suits and replace their shelves with scarfs and boots. They are getting themselves prepared for the cold weather that greets them.

Jackets have been a major part of any winter outfit, and those who want to stay fashionable should shy away from hoodies to wear coats of various styles. Some prefer a snug leather, bomber-cut jacket while others tend to wear longer coats with double breasted buttons.

A popular trend in Wellington High is the oversized off the shoulder sweater and tights as pants. Sweaters and cardigans, in natural animal or tribal prints, as well as plain bright colors or bright prints, are definitely in this year. No matter what the occasion, you can always look fashionable and stay warm.

Another vital asset to every outfit is the shoes. Boots always reign supreme in fall and winter, but this season it’s all about chunky ankle boots. With their extra thick and sturdy heels, these boots offer a comfortable boost of height, which makes them perfect for everyday wear. Plus, they pair well with everything from dresses to skinny jeans.

“The new trends seems to be combat boots and scarves, Everybody loves to wear those! On cold days, I love layering, so I wear skinny jeans and boots with a cute shirt, sweater or leather jacket and sometimes a scarf!” Emily Sehres, junior, said.

In addition to boots, shoes adorned with glitter are going to be huge this season. From subtle styles to ultra-shimmery, blinged out versions, these trendy flats, heels, and boots are sure to add some sparkle to your wardrobe.

If you would like to look a little edgy, the answer is studs studs studs! Studs have saturated everything on the market from shirt collars to shoes.

“I have been seeing a lot of long sleeve button up Chiffon shirts and studded tops and shoes.  Darker colored denim and Steve madden boots are also trendy this year.” Christine Cassi, senior, said.

So remember, no matter what your style is, there is something to help you stay warm and in style this winter season.
